Office of the Premier Free State: Graduate Internship Programme 2025

The Office of the Premier in the Free State Province is inviting 25 unemployed graduates to apply for its Graduate Internship Programme 2025. This two-year initiative is designed to provide practical workplace training and professional development across the province’s district municipalities.

Closing Date: 10 October 2025
Duration: 24 Months
Location: Lejweleputswa, Thabo Mofutsanyane, Fezile Dabi, and Xhariep Districts – Free State Province
Stipend: Paid according to the revised Directive on Developmental Programmes in the Public Service


About the Programme

This internship is part of the provincial government’s efforts to address graduate unemployment while strengthening service delivery. Successful candidates will gain on-the-job development training in technical, professional, public service, and life skills. The programme equips interns with the tools they need to enter the formal job market while contributing to infrastructure, planning, and development projects within the Free State.


Fields of Study Considered

Applicants must hold a National Diploma, Degree, or BTech qualification in one of the following areas:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Civil Engineering – Project Management
  • Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering
  • Environmental Water Management / Environmental Engineering
  • Quantity Surveying (Water Management / Environmental focus)
  • Urban and Rural Planning / Town and Regional Planning
  • General Engineering Studies
